The glass in this scope is right up there with any other high end optic. All i can say is wow! The clarity and resolution is impeccable at all magnification ranges. The only thing I noticed is that the field of view is noticeably smaller at all magnifications compared to other scopes in its class. This is not a big deal as you get used to it very quickly. This scope has great eye relief also hovering around 3.5 inches and you don't have to strain at all to keep a great sight picture. It gets a bit smaller at 25x but still very easy to maintain a clear sight picture.

The turrets on this model are Leupold's M1 turrets and I love everything about them other than I would prefer mils. However Leupold has released their M5 turrets which are in mils. I will be reviewing a mark 4 M5 later this year. Back to the turrets at hand. They are excellent in all aspects. Great tactile feel and sound and have marks to show your current rotation on the elevation turret. They are repeatable and we did not have any issues taking this scope out to longer ranges and bringing it back in and holding zero.

The construction of this scope is typical Leupold quality and what you would expect out of a scope costing $1400, very well build. The scope is a single 30mm tube and is matte black, with a very nice finish.

This scope functions exactly as it should. Perfect target acquisition and tracking and it returns to zero every time.
This scope is a pleasure to shoot with, the glass is crystal clear and I love the TMR reticle. This reticle has to be my favorite, it is very easy to range with and I love how the center of it is hollowed out; this makes long distance shooting much easier. With the reticle as it is the shooter is able to see a small target with out obscuring it with a dot or lines, and in my opinion allows for more precise targeting.

Leupold has made a number of changes to their tactical line of optics throughout the last few years and I am pleased they are finally listening to the shooting community and adding things like new reticle options and the mil. turrets.

Overall I am very impressed with this scope. Leupold has gotten some bad reviews and press over the last few years about quality but I have seen no indications of anything like that with this model. It handled remarkable in all areas and in many conditions. It tracked great and always returned to zero. I ran the elevation and windage turrets all the way up and down and then returned to zero without any change in my accuracy. The features and glass of this scope make it a very good contender in the $1000-$2000 range and I would not hold any reservations in running this scope head to head with any other scope in its class.
