The only weakness I have found with this scope is the glass quality but when you take into consideration that it only costs $300 you cant be too critical. It still offers very nice glass for the money. I would compare the quality of the glass to a Bushnell 3200 or a lower end Leupold. The glass is very usable and has nice resolution and clarity all the way through its magnification range. You can easily spot bullet holes at 100 yards and make shots on squirrels out to about 3-400 yards.
The scope has great eye relief also which is nice. I hate having to fight and strain to get a good sight picture.

Honesty, the turrets are not bad on the TRS-1, they remind me  of the M1 turrets on my Leupold Mark 4, just not quite as nice. I have heard people complain of them being mushy and not tactile enough, but I have had the opposite experience from the many TRS's I have shot. My experiences have been great, the turrets are very tight and have a great tactile feel, and sound to them. I can tell where I am at when not looking at the turret. Now are there better turrets out there? Of course but this is a nice feature to a very nice priced scope. Another great feature of the TRS line is that you can get matching turrets for the mil. reticle if you want. Not many lower priced scopes offer this option. The only ones I can think of would be Wotac and Falcon, which are still a bit more money than the TRS. I would like to do a head to head comparison between the three brands if I can get a chance in the future.

The first generation TRS had no marks on the turrets to indicate how many revolutions you had gone, but the newer generation models now have indicator marks on the turret. This is a must have feature in my opinion and its addition to the new models shows that Millett is listening to the shooting community. The turrets have functioned perfectly for me since I have owned it and always return to zero.

The TRS-1 is a single 30mm tube with a 50mm objective and feels rock solid. I have put close to a thousand rounds underneath these scope with guns ranging from a .22 to a 338 Lapua and have not had any indication of a failure or weakness, the scope can take a pounding.

The TRS has functioned flawlessly for me and  I am very impressed with all that it offers. I have dropped one of them a few times and it continues to track and shoot fine. When you put all of the features together it makes one hell of a scope for the money. The 4-16 magnification range paired with a lit reticle makes a great entry level tactical scope, for new competition shooters, fun and varmint hunting.  My particular scopes have 100 and 96 total moa of elevation which makes this scope
very capable of getting to 1000 yards with a 308,

As I have been saying I have not had any issues with either of the TRS scopes or any that I have sold thus far, indicating that they are very durable and should last a long time. Millett also offers a great lifetime warranty, and even though they are now owned by Bushnell they still offer this warranty.

I think the Millett TRS-1 is an incredible scope for the money, sure its not a Leupold or a Nightforce but its also not the price of one of those brands either. Many new shooters or shooters wanting to try a tactical scope should find this a great option. If you are wanting to try out a tactical scope or are on a budget I would have no reservations in buying or recommending a TRS. It is a great scope for the money and you wont have to sacrifice much for the lower price. This scope is a great entry level scope or varmint scope and I personally have one mounted on one of my main squirrel guns.

Overall I am very impressed with all that the TRS offers, I have sold more TRS scopes than any other scope to this point and have not had one returned. The scope performs as it should in all aspects, the parallax and focus work great. It has great eye relief and is very forgiving even at 16x. The turrets return to zero every time and the reticle is accurate at ranging targets. Not everyone can afford high end glass on every rifle they own and this scope offers a great alternative for those of us that demand a great scope at a lower price without having to sacrifice performance. I would like to see Millett offer a few more reticle options, and the addition of a zero stop on this model would make it a real hit in the market place and make them a serious contender to higher end scope companies. If you need something with a little more power Millett offers the LRS series which is essentially a TRS with much higher magnification ranges, I will be doing a review on an LRS-1 in the coming months.
